= Appearance =
Vadim is an unkempt young man with a mercenary bearing. His ears poke out of his shaggy black mane, which barely obscures his brilliant green eyes. His skin tone and facial features suggest Asian heritage. When not in his armor, he tends to wear hand-me-down fatigues from various military groups. His armor has seen more action than a boy his age could possibly have seen; dents, scratches, blast marks, and gouges from bullets, plasma, shrapnel and melee weapons. In or out of his armor, Vadim carries a battle-weathered 12.7mm pistol on one hip and a rifle bayonet on the other.

= Personality =
Vadim is a twitchy young man who has an addiction to energy drinks and a fascination with weaponry. Raised by a mercenary company from a young age, he is no stranger to violence, and is a tad overzealous when it comes to the job. He takes pride in his prowess as a soldier and a pilot, ready to step up and prove himself when challenged. He thinks outside the box to a fault, most of his plans involving the steps "procure high explosives".

= Background =
Vadim Makarov's earliest memories involve an IED crater, stumbling through a freezing forest, and sitting on his aunt's kitchen table while having a shrapnel wound stitched shut. The Tserber mercenary company was his family from age four, Vadim quickly taking to the life of a soldier for hire. Despite the violence involved, Vadim recalls his youth fondly, particularly those in which he was piloting vertibirds with Uncle Nikolai or learning the art of the kindjal from Aunt Olga. After fifteen years of blowing things up for money, he finally decided to hone his craft and head off as a solo mercenary.
= Special Abilities =
''(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)''<br>
Aside from a lifetime of military combat training, Vadim has had extensive training in military vehicles from the early to mid-2100's; from heavy duty trucks to air and spacecraft. He has also had basic training in microgravity and EVA.

= Powers & Merits =
''(Unique, or hereditary, in-born powers, whether due to genetics or magic, things that can't be taught to others or simply gifted to this person from an outside force. Powers based on weapons should go in the Items. Merits can also go here.)''<br>

Catlike Balance (2): Difficulties for balance-related Athletics rolls are at -1.

Acute Senses (1): Hearing checks +1.

= Unique Items =
''(Madougu, magical weapons or other unique or special weapons, as well as all techniques related to them, as without it technically the character is NOT able to use these abilities.)''<br>
*EVA Suit
Vadim has a set of self-contained environmental armor typically used by government special forces, complete with ballistic protection, temperature control, and thermal insulation against extreme temperatures experienced during reentry. It's vacuum-rated and can perform in space for roughly 15 minutes, the titanium and ceramic-composite armor meant to serve against both space debris and enemy combatants. The set Vadim wears is much older than he is, passed around on the black market and jury-rigged by Tserber with knockoffs of the latest operating tech. It boasts a HUD complete with soliton radar, thermal and night vision. Almost a century ago it would have been the razor's edge in mobile protection. Nowadays it's not too shabby.

= Items Of Note =

= Weaknesses & Flaws =
''Flaws can go here. Balance is key!''
*Addiction (1)
Vadim loves him some caffeine. He's constantly drinking or eating stuff loaded with it.
*Overconfident (1)
Vadim is the son of a feared and respected mercenary. His deranged life has left him thinking he's a regular Big Boss.
*Compulsive Speech (1)
Vadim has no social filter and will crack horrible jokes or run his mouth when it may not be a good idea.

= Skills =
''(These include all learned skills, as well as a relative rating from Abysmal to Amazing. The character's level of mastery in something that can be taught or at least rated by other people follows the scale: Abysmal, Novice, Good, Very Good, Incredible, Amazing)''
= Appearance =
Zephyr is your average free-born apex - he wears another culture's clothes, carries their weapons, and looks a little feral. He sports a tail that's almost as long as he is tall. His wild golden mane is sloppily tied into a high ponytail, and he often wears unkempt clothing from secondhand stores across the galaxy. Despite his wild, unruly appearance and flippant attitude, he has an air of impish intelligence about him.

= Personality =
Zephyr comes off like a carefree thrillseeker, motivated by constant boredom and desire to tempt fate by poking it in the eye with a stick. He's always the first to volunteer for a sparring match, a strong drink, or a prank involving a whoopee cushion and copious amounts of shaving cream, but he's also one of the first to jump into action when his friends need him. Though he portrays himself as a harmless clown, there is a sharp intelligence and sense of duty to those around him that would rival any hylotl samurai.

= Background =

When the pacifist hylotl colonies suddenly and violently became the only standing remnant of their planet's culture, some of the hylotl lords beseeched their people to become its protectors. The Foshan clan, naming themselves after the legendary human province, called for those who would teach their people the martial arts. The Izayoi colony, drawing in masters from every race and walk of life in the galaxy, became the home of some of the most legendary fighters of the era, but also became a battleground for every eager dojo out to prove its superiority.

Zephyr was raised on the streets of Izayoi, witnessing the violent, bloody rivalry between countless schools. Looking to defend himself from fellow street urchins twice his size, Zephyr was turned away by many masters of many styles; he was too young and frail to learn the arts of war, though he started earning meager pocket money as a courier for a hylotl sword master. When delivering a scroll to an isolated teahouse, Zephyr was invited to take a rest and chat with the demure apex woman who owned it. When the sword master barged in, demanding to know why his delivered challenge had not yet received a response, Zephyr realized he was having tea with an elusive, fabled warrior - the Trickster Queen. When his employer moved to reprimand Zephyr for losing track of time(punting him across the room), the Trickster Queen leapt to his defense and proceeded to give the hylotl the beating of a lifetime. With the flashing of steel, plasma, explosive powders and profanity that would make a sailor blush, Zephyr witnessed not only the first glimpse of her signature Xiao Ying(Laughing Shadow) style, but also the first person to protect him from someone who would do him harm. While the sword master's disciples dragged their sensei out of the wrecked teahouse, Zephyr pledged his undying loyalty to his new sifu. He would spend the next decade as her student, learning the ways of Xiao Ying and honing his skills by bounty hunting for the magistrate. After ten years of serving food or beatdowns to the martial artists of Izayoi, Zephyr was given a Xiao Ying staff and his sifu's blessing - he was ready to strike out on his own.
''(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)''<br>
Dunno yet; open to suggestions :D

= Powers & Merits =
''(Unique, or hereditary, in-born powers, whether due to genetics or magic, things that can't be taught to others or simply gifted to this person from an outside force. Powers based on weapons should go in the Items. Merits can also go here.)''<br>
Catlike Balance (2): Difficulties for balance-related Athletics rolls are at -1.

Acute Senses (1): Hearing checks +1.

Ambidextrous (2): Having four hands means you're using at least two at any given time. May as well have some coordination.

Zephyr has a prehensile tail that he has strength-trained as intensely as any of his limbs. It can support his weight without a problem, and he can use it to retrieve small items or even carry a backup weapon. It doesn't have much strength for attacking, though he may use the tuft at the end to swat at an opponent's eyes or nose.

= Unique Items =
''(Madougu, magical weapons or other unique or special weapons, as well as all techniques related to them, as without it technically the character is NOT able to use these abilities.)''<br>
Xiao Ying Staff - Xiao Ying is based in Ninjutsu and Monkey Kung Fu, the latter of which is known for its staff techniques. Unbeknownst to its opponents, however, the Xiao Ying staff is a technological marvel. It has powerful electromagnetic locks along the shaft that Zephyr can disengage mid-swing, revealing the chain inside and turning it from a quarterstaff to a three-sectioned staff, a segmented whip, or even a set of oversized nunchaku. The most deadly feature, however, is the engraved head of the staff, which splits open to reveal a hidden blade emitter that turns the weapon into a beam-naginata.

Grapplers - Zephyr was trained to use every fighting surface possible - even walls and ceilings. One of the tricks of the trade is a set of powerful monofilament grapple-guns(typically used by spacers as emergency lines in zero gravity) built into his wrist and ankle bands. Each one has 100 feet of range, and each can easily pull his weight to its fixed target within seconds. Using these in unison, along with his natural agility and reflexes, makes Zephyr highly mobile and unpredictable. How he doesn't kill himself using them is anyone's guess. Zephyr has also learned to fire them into the floor, fixing him in place in order to combat high winds or water that would otherwise sweep him away, or fixing them to ledges in order to perform impromptu bungee-jumps when needed.

= Items Of Note =
Aside from his staff and high-tech gadgets, Zephyr packs an array of traditional ninja weaponry, from Edo-style shurikens to flash-pellets and packets of blinding powder. The antagonistic nature of Xiao Ying, however, also has provocation weapons in its arsenal. Zephyr carries pellets loaded with sneezing and itching powder, stinking liquid, glue and grease.

= Special Abilities =
''(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)''<br>

Xiao Ying Staff - Xiao Yin is based in Ninjutsu and Monkey Kung Fu, the latter of which is known for its staff techniques.

The antagonistic nature of Xiao Yin, however, also has provocation weapons in its arsenal. Zephyr carries pellets loaded with sneezing and itching powder, stinking liquid, glue and grease.

= Special Abilities =
''(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)''<br>

Xiao Yin Staff - Xiao Yin is based in Ninjutsu and Monkey Kung Fu, the latter of which is known for its staff techniques. Unbeknownst to its opponents, however, the Xiao Yin staff is a technological marvel. It has powerful electromagnetic locks along the shaft that Zephyr can disengage mid-swing, revealing the chain inside and turning it from a quarterstaff to a three-sectioned staff, a segmented whip, or even a pair of oversized nunchaku.

The antagonistic nature of Xiao Yin, however, also has provocation weapons in its arsenal. Zephyr carries pellets loaded with sneezing and itching powder, stinking liquid, glue and grease.
